Muhlenberg County schools are under the purview of the Muhlenberg County Board of Education.  At present there are five elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school with two campuses, and a career and technical center.  Madisonville Community College serves the county with campuses in Madisonville and Central City.  Muhlenberg County Public Libraries provide education and training opportunities at both of their locations in Greenville and Central City.
