Economic Development
Muhlenberg County is in the process of refocusing its economic
development efforts to become an energetic and progressive entity
that will evolve into a more competitive organization. The creation
of Muhlenberg Alliance of Progress will become our focal point in
recruiting new endeavors, supporting our existing industries and
promoting an environment to create an entrepreneurial spirit within
Muhlenberg County. In the near future MAP looks forward to creating
a marketing and management tool that promotes Muhlenberg County
onto the global marketplace. The development of this organization
is ongoing and the development of a website will soon be initiated
that will be the beginning of our marketing phase to improve the
economy of Muhlenberg County and this region. It is MAP's
initiative to create alliances within the region to grow our
economy and promote our citizens for a brighter and better furture
for Muhlenberg County.
Muhlenberg County is part of two regional business parks. Paradise
Regional Business Park is a five-county initiative with Muhlenberg,
Daviess, Hopkins, McLean and Ohio Counties to provide quality,
shovel ready industrial property for development. It consists of
375 acres of developed industrial land that contains an access
road, water, sewer, electricity and telecommunications in place on
the site. This initiative, in partnership with the Commonwealth of
Kentucky, is to provide fully developed sites that allow the
Paradise Regional Business Park region the ability to compete for
industrial prospects that are interested in locating in parks that
are fully developed and large enough to cater to their needs. The
location of Paradise Regional Business Park provides excellent
access to any prospect's transportation, manufacturing or service
needs to compete on a global scale, in an ever-changing
marketplace.
